The PilatesStick Advanced Exercise DVD Has All The Familiar Moves Of Pilates Exercises Yet In A Challenging Workout

An Exciting 50 Minute Workout Program For All Parts Of Your Body

I am so excited to write about this advanced exercise DVD from PilatesStick, I can barely write fast enough. This portable system, is my new favorite tool for home workouts and now with this DVD, I have more reason to workout. The DVD is perfect for someone who is well versed with Pilates machines or someone who has been doing the basic version of PilatesStick long enough to have a proficiency.

The exercises are once again familiar moves taken from the Reformer, Cadillac and mat exercises and it is performed by the very adept Susannah Cotrone. Her voice over adds to the details of the exercises and her intonation gives a great idea of the internal rhythm of these exercises.

The DVD lasts about 50 minutes and it challenges all parts of your body in lying down, kneeling and standing positions. Exercises that might be familiar are the Rolldown series, Chest Expansion, Thigh Stretch, Teaser, The Hundred and many more. Perhaps the most innovative use of the Stick is in the Footwork series. Mimicking the footwork from the reformer, this series is the most challenging to master as it requires great concentration and control. These exercises really engage the hamstring muscles in a big way.

Balance and strength are required for the standing exercises. The tension from the elastics (which act as springs) makes keeping your balance very challenging especially when doing running and jumping front and back. I am thoroughly enjoying my PilatesStick and love the fact that I can workout at home whenever I want.

The advanced exercise DVD adds a whole new dimension to my workout program and it proves that there is no limit to the exercises that can be performed using this incredible tool. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
